Lisa Stöckner
Dipl. Psych., Psychotherapist
Medical psychology and medical sociology
Dipl.-Psych. Lisa Stöckner heads the psychotherapeutic university outpatient clinic specialising in pain at the Ruhr University Bochum. She combines research with clinical practice and specialises in chronic pain and psychosomatic illnesses.
Career
After studying psychology in Marburg, she returned to the Ruhr area. During her training as a psychological psychotherapist, she worked in the Department of Medical Psychology and Medical Sociology at Ruhr University Bochum. There she treated people with chronic pain and took on a management role in the outpatient research centre. The connection between psyche and medicine characterises her work.
Clinical experience
She then spent several years leading a psychotherapy team in a medical care centre specialising in neurology, psychiatry and psychotherapy. She treated patients with concomitant physical illnesses in individual and group settings. She is currently deepening her expertise in further training to become a specialised pain psychotherapist.
Outpatient clinic management
Since 2022, she has been setting up the psychotherapeutic university outpatient clinic specialising in pain at the Ruhr University Bochum. As head of the outpatient clinic, she combines research and clinical practice. Her scientific work enables her to further develop therapeutic approaches. At the same time, her therapeutic work with patients ensures close practical relevance. In her therapeutic work, she treats each person individually and at eye level. In doing so, she takes their personal history and biographical context into account.
